About Gozo

The so called Calypso Island in the North of Malta measures 67 square kilometer and can be reached by a 25-minutes scenic ferry ride crossing the ten kilometer long channel. The name Calypso goes back to Homer’s Odyssey, in which the sea nymph held Odysseus for seven years in the Ulysses cave, which is nowadays located close to Ramla Bay. For cyclists, Gozo is the perfect place to explore long country roads, narrow streets and sleek stretches of strikingly beautiful valleys with scenic views. Gozo’s national symbol contains three hills, notwithstanding the fact that the highest point is only of 450 meters.
